Séwé Sport’s coach Rigo Gervais is confident his side can be crowned in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday, when they face Al Ahly in Cairo in the return leg of the tournament’s final.
The Ivoirian champions enjoyed a 2-1 win over the Red Devils in Abidjan in the first leg last weekend, and their manager is adamant that they will keep their focus and not let their advantage slip in the final 90 minutes.
“The boys managed to fight back after the second goal (nldr: Ahly’s equaliser), and that’s good news ahead of the return leg,” Rigo said at a press conference.
“We are not scared to say that we can bring the trophy back to Abidjan. Remember that we beat Etoile du Sahel away from home, and we will put on a valiant display in Cairo,” he added.
“We have what it takes for that. And as far as the pressure is concerned, we are used to it. We proved it in Nigeria and also in Dolisie. We are ready to get a result that will mean so much for Côte d’Ivoire.”
Séwé will reach Cairo this Tuesday, with the same squad that defeated the Red Devils in the first leg.
The game will kick off at the Cairo international Stadium on Saturday at 18h00 CAT.
