Former Nigeria international Tijjani Babangida has tipped FC Taraba skipper Usman Mohammed to make his mark with the country’s Olympic team.
Babangida is top official of FC Taraba and he has now said he is not in any doubt Mohammed, who is discovered playing street soccer in Sokoto, will fly high with Dream Team VI.
“I discovered Usman playing street football in Sokoto and I saw him wear his first football boots. He is a natural,” said former Ajax Amsterdam winger Babangida.
“He has been a match winner for my club this past season and even at such a young age he has shown great leadership qualities on and off the pitch that it was not difficult to name him team captain.”
The former Nigeria star added: “I am therefore not surprised with the glowing reports I have received about the midfielder from the national U23 training camp in Abuja.
“The future can only be bright for both the Nigeria Olympic team and Usman.”
