Although AmaZulu could not confirm Mamelodi Sundowns striker Bongi Ntuli’s capture, the club confirms there have been talks.
Usuthu’s team manager, Japhet Zwane, said there have been talks to lure the hitman back to his province as he’s not playing regular football at the Brazilians.
It has been said that the league champions could release the player on loan to ensure he gets regular game-time elsewhere and Steve Barker’s Usuthu were the favourites to land the ex-Golden Arrows player.
News reports suggest that following negotiations between the two PSL clubs, Ntuli is on his way to Durban to join his new teammates for the remainder of the 2014/15 season.
“I cannot confirm that with you until the player arrives and signs with us,” said Zwane.
“For now I can tell you that there have been talks to have him in our ranks but we’ll see before I make a comment.
“Yes there’s possibility that we can bring new faces to the club to add value to those that we currently have in our squad because we haven’t done well.”
When asked about their preparations for the second round, the former Manning Rangers winger said they aim to do a miracle.
“We aim to do a miracle come next round of the league, we want to do what everyone has never thought,” added Zwane.
“We want to fight for our lives but that all begins with a prayer and then hard work for the miracle to happen.”
Ntuli’s agent was not available for comment as his mobile phone rang unanswered prior to publishing the story.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands has also been linked with a move to AmaZulu during the current transfer window, however, it’s not yet clear if he’s going to leave.
