Congo coach Claude Le Roy has said he will soon decide on his future after he alleged he was badly treated when his team lost at home to Nigeria in the qualifiers.

“I never said that I have resigned,” Le Roy explained.

“I told the players that with the way I have been treated in the meeting between FECOFOOT (the Congo football association, NDLR), the Minister of Sports and the ‘Diables Rouges’ technical staff after our defeat to Nigeria in Pointe-Noire (in the AFCON qualifiers, NDLR), and given the current atmosphere, I was under reflection about my future and they will be the first ones to hear about my decision.”

Earlier reports had suggested he has quit his post, but the Frenchman said he was misunderstood when he told his players they will be the first to know what his decision is.

Alain Giresse was fired by Senegal and Michel Dussuyer resigned his position in Guinea.

Le Roy said he was shabbily treated after his team lost 2-0 at home to Nigeria in qualifying match for the AFCON.

Nigeria avenged a 3-2 defeat they suffered with the win in Pointe-Noire, but Congo still advanced to Equatorial Guinea 2015 after they won 1-0 in Sudan and Nigeria failed to beat group winners South Africa at home.

“I wanted you to be the first to hear about my decision,” Le Roy told the Red Devils in their hotel following their return to Brazzaville as quoted by football242.com.

“I never accepted the way I get treated after our defeat to Nigeria in Pointe Noire (during the AFCON qualifying campaign, NDLR). “
