Zesco United wasted a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 away to Mbabane Swallows of Swaziland in a 2015 CAF Champions League first leg tie on Sunday afternoon.

The Zambian club looked like they had the points in the bag until midfielder Felix Badenhorst’s second half equaliser saw the two sides share the spoils.

Zesco took the lead on the nick of halftime when midfielder Justin Zulu fired-in a long-range shot from outside the box.

However, Badenhorst broke the Zambian champions hearts when he equalised deep into stoppage of the 90 minutes to keep the te alive.

Zesco will host Swallows in Ndola in the final leg, preliminary round decider on February 28.

Winner over both legs will play either 2014 CAF Confederation Cup runners-up Sewe Sport of Cote d’Ivoire or AS Kaloum of Guinea in mid-March.

Kaloum beat Sewe 2-1 away in Abidjan on Saturday.
