Davies Nkausu made his second debut for the University of Pretoria in a 2-1 Nedbank Cup win over Moroka Swallows on Wednesday.
The Zambia international returned to AmaTuks last month on-loan from Bloemfontein Celtic, having previously represented the Tshwane club from 2003-2008 before going on to sign for crosstown rivals SuperSport United.
The 2012 African Cup of Nations winner played the full 90 as AmaTuks ended their six-game losing streak in cup competitions.
Head coach Sammy Troughton, who worked with Nkausu in his first stint at the club, is delighted to have the fullback back at Tuks.
"I still believe he [Nkausu] has got time left in the game, it is not like he is an old man. Both him and Bennett [Chenene] were brought in not only for their ability but also the influence they can have in the team. They are experienced, they are two good characters and Davies I think he did well tonight," Troughton said in the aftermath.
"Under pressure he shows composure where other defenders tend to panic. He has got experience, I mean the guy has got an AFCON winners medal so we are looking for that [experience]. That is why we singed him and I think he can give us something.
"He had done okay, I am happy with the debut he had. It's nice to have him back."
