Zambia skipper Lubambo Musonda will miss Thursday’s all-important AYC Group B clash against leaders Ghana after he was injured in the first game against Mali.
Zambia coach Hector Chilombo said he needs all his players 100% fit as they plan to upset Ghana on Thursday in Mbour.
“We need to win our next game against Ghana and I need all my players to be 100% fit for the match. Lubambo will not play on Thursday,” said the coach.
Zambia lost 1-0 to Mali and need to get a result against Ghana, who beat South Africa 2-0, to stay alive at the 2015 AYC.
In the meantime, Mali have expressed regret they are in Senegal without three of their top stars – Adama Traore (Lille, France), Abdoulaye Sanogo (KAS Eupen, Belgium) and goalkeeper Djigui Diarra, who features for Stade Malien.
Mali top official Abefa Ag Seydou said first-choice goalkeeper Diarra will be out of action for at least three months after he fractured his finger.
