Al Ahly will be the overwhelming favourites to progress to the round of 16 of the CAF Champions League when they host APR FC in Cairo on Saturday.

The Red Devils sealed a 2-0 victory in Kigali in the first leg of their round of 32 tie, thanks to second half goals from Emad Meteb and Walid Soliman, and are now left with the realistic task of finishing the job at home.

Ahly came back into action this Tuesday with a 2-1 win over Ragaa in matchday 23 of the Egyptian Premier League, after the championship was suspended for seven weeks following the death of 20 Zamalek supporters in a stampede at the Air Defence Stadium on February 8.

Coach Juan Carlos Garrido’s men are third in the table, nine points behind leaders Zamalek, but with a game in hand.

The Cairo giants will host the Rwanda outfit at the Petro Sport Stadium behind closed doors, with kick-off scheduled at 19h00 CAT.

The aggregate winners will face Morocco’s Moghreb Tetouan or Kano Pillars of Nigeria in the round of 16.
