Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways with a comprehensive 4-0 thrashing of Heart of Lions to end the first round of the Ghana Premier League.
Striker Amed Toure started the rout by converting a penalty kick early in the first half before Prince Baffoe doubled the lead a few minutes later for the champions.
Kotoko had struggled to score goals since their crashing out of the CAF Champions League but appeared to be in the mood for a massive goal harvest on Wednesday.
Latif Amadu made it 3-0 in the 65th minute to make the three points certain.
But Emmanuel Asante scored late on to put a gloss over the superb performance of David Duncan’s side while summing up the hapless outing of the visiting Lions.
