Zamalek are travelling to Morocco in the Confederation Cup, to face FUS Rabat in the return leg of their round of 16 tie on Sunday
The ‘White Knights’ were held to a goalless draw in Suez in the first leg, and will have to score and avoid defeat away from home to extend their continental journey.
The Cairo giants have been handed a major confidence boost ahead of their trip, after enjoying a 2-0 win over Harass El-Hodoud in the Egyptian Premier League on Monday
to strengthen their leadership at the top of the table and extend their cushion over arch enemies Ahly to 11 points.
“The El-Hodoud victory is very important ahead of the FUS clash. It is a morale boost for the players before travelling to Morroco,” Zamalek coach Jesualdo Ferreira admitted.
However, FUS will be looking to bank on their draw on the road in front of their home crowd, even if Rabat coach Hoalid Regragui insisted on a “double-edged result” in Suez.
“Zamalek are a great team and the game will be very tough,” Regragui said at a press conference on Wednesday.
“The game is similar to Real Madrid's clash against Atletico and I want to beat Zamalek with the same way by scoring just before the end,” he added.
FUS will also be boosted by the return of striker Hicham El Aroui from a long-term injury.
The match will kick off at Complexe Sportif Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan at 21h30
CAT on Sunday.
