A fairytale brace from Deon Hotto gave Namibia the Cosafa Cup 2015 as they beat Mozambique 2-0 at Moruleng Stadium on Saturday.
Namibia surprised all to claim gold in what has been a remarkable run during the event, which saw big guns like Ghana, South Africa and Zambia go out early.
Golden Arrows' Namibian star Deon Hotto was the first to search for an opener but his shot went wide early on.
In the 23rd minute Benson Shilongo also came close to finding a goal for Namibia but his header missed the target.
Nambia finally got rewarded as Hotto found the back of the net and gave his side a 1-0 lead.
This saw the two teams going to the half time break with Namibia leading by 1-0.
In the second half it was Mozambique that came out with more hunger to find goals.
Luis Parkim pulled off a powerful strike but it went straight into Virgil Vries' hands in the 59th minute.
Mozambique continued to search for an equalizer as Norberto Nornerto also took a shot but it unfortunately went wide.
Then Shitembi came close to doubling the score for Namibia but his header could not connect with Deon Hotto’s cross.
In the 74th minute the in form Hotto netted his brace as he gave Namibia a 2-0 cushion after a deflected shot.
As much as Mozambique tried to come back into the game, the impressive Vries was well alert and this saw Namibia being crowned champs.
