Guinea-Bissau held by Mali

Guinea-Bissau were held to a 1-1 draw by Mali on Saturday, as the two sides were kicking off their 2016 African Nations Championship qualifying campaign in the zone West A group.

Obetchi put the locals ahead after five minutes of play, with Sissoko levelling matters for the Eagles in the 19th minute to send both sides on equal footing into the break.

The scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle following a goalless second half, with Mali the favourites to progress as they will host the second leg in Bamako in a fortnight.

The aggregate winners will face Mauritania or Sierra Leone in the next round.
