Morocco enjoyed a 3-0 victory over Libya in Casablanca on Sunday evening, to take the lead in their Northern zone group of the 2016 African Nations Championship qualifiers.
Mouhcine Iajour put the Atlas Lions ahead in the 16th minute at Stade Mohammed V, with Abdelilah Hafidi scoring number two in the 40th minute to send Morocco into half time with a two-goal cushion.
And Marouane Saadane added to the visitors’ misery fifteen minutes from time to seal a convincing victory.
Morocco are now top of the group on 4 points, ahead of Libya (3 points) and Tunisia (1 point).
The return legs will be played in Tunisia in August, with the top two teams to book their spot at the final tournament in Rwanda.
