Akwa United and Warri Wolves settled for a 1-1 draw in a Week 14 game of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Uyo International Stadium, better known as Nest of Champions.
Akwa United now have 15 points from 14 games, while Wolves have 17 points from 11 games.
It was the first time a league game will be staged at the stadium and Gbolahan Salami became the first player to score a league goal at the stadium when he put the visiting team Warri Wolves in front in the 74th minute to finish off a Stanley Dimgba pass.
Five minutes after Wolves took the lead, Akwa United equalised through Abdulafeez Awakan, who fired home from 16 yards after he latched on to a mishit clearance.
It was the goalkeepers' show in the first half as Olufemi Kayode of Akwa United and Daniel Akpeyi of Warri Wolves made sure the first half ended goalless with some brilliant saves.
In the 15th minute, Akpeyi rescued Wolves from conceding a goal after a defensive mix up.
Six minutes later, Akwa United attempted to score following another defensive error, but Akpeyi denied Aniekpeno Udoh.
In the 24th minute, it was the turn of Olufemi Kayode to make a save for Akwa United when he stopped Michael Okoyoh from close range.
On the half hour mark, Gbolahan Salami's flick from Stanley Dimgba's cross sailed over the bar.
Two minutes into the second half, injured Akpeyi could not continue and he gave way to Rhiogbere Tejiri.
