Burundi sealed a 4-1 aggregate win over Djibouti in Bujumbura on Saturday, to advance in the next round of the 2016 African Nations Championship qualifiers.
After recording a 2-1 victory on the road in the first leg, the Swallows finished the job with a 2-0 win in front of their home crowd at Stade Prince Louis Rwagasore.
Mavugo Laudit sent the locals into the break with a one-goal advantage, with Abas Nshimirimana adding to the visitors’ misery in the second half.
The Swallows will face Ethiopia in their next continental outing in October, with the winners to book their place in the final tournament in Rwanda.
