The NFF may have soft pedaled on a decision to banish goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and strip him of the captaincy of the Super Eagles for his controversial comments regarding the safety of Kaduna for an AFCON qualifier.
The NFF decision may not be unconnected with the furore that greeted the saga which included the Lille goalkeeper tearing a query given to him to defend himself as his comments in the media that Kaduna was not safe to stage the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Chad last month.
Enyeama must face the music
“Enyeama will now pay a fine and this will be treated internally,” a top official informed AfricanFootball.com
Enyeama is the most capped Nigeria international after he made his 101st
appearance for the Super Eagles ironically against Chad in Kaduna.
Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has already been fined for his dismissal from the same match.
