USM Alger will host fellow Algerian side MC El Eulma in Bologhine on Friday, in matchday 3 of the CAF Champions League in Group B.

The Red and Blacks got their continental campaign off to a perfect start with back-to-back victories over defending champions ES Sétif on the road and Al Merreikh at home, and will aim to extend their winning run and close in on a spot in the semifinals half-way through the group stage.

“We have put our win over Al Merreikh behind us and are only focusing on getting a good result when we host MC El Eulma, as only victory will boost our chances to reach the last four of the Champions League,” USMA left-back Brahim Boudebouda told

“We need to take this match very seriously and be at our best to secure a win. Our opponents will be desperate to bounce back after losing their first two games.”

Indeed, pointless MC El Eulma will have no choice but to get something out from their trip to Algiers, after falling 2-0 in Khartoum to Al Merreikh and 0-1 against ES Sétif in front of their home crowd.

USM Alger will have to do without suspended midfielder Hamza Koudri, and are still sweating over the availability of U-23 international trio of Ayoub Abdellaoui, Mohamed Benkhemassa and Oussama Darfalou who are involved in Algeria’s CAF U-23 Championship qualifier against Sierra Leone.

Last season in the Algerian Ligue 1, MC El Eulma had suffered a 1-2 home loss to USM Alger before holding the Reds and Blacks 1-1 in the reverse fixture.

The game will kick off at Stade Omar Hamadi at 21h30 CAT on Friday 24 July 2015.
