Nigeria international Odion Ighalo has told AfricanFootball.com he is disappointed not to be called up by coach Sunday Oliseh for next month’s 2017 AFCON qualifier against Tanzania.
However, the Watford striker, who has been capped thrice by Nigeria with a goal to his name, said he has taken it in good faith and believes he could still be picked for subsequent games.
"I am a little bit disappointed not to be in the list, but I am taking it in good faith,” Ighalo told AfricanFootball.com
“Nigeria is blessed with talents. I think the coach is rebuilding, maybe I am not in his plan for now. May be he will call me in future."
Ighalo has scored for Watford in the EPL and started the team's second game against West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.
And despite being left out, the striker said he believes the players called up by Sunday Oliseh will beat Tanzania.
"I think the players he called can do it against Tanzania,” he said.
"I want to concentrate on working hard at Watford and see what happens in future with the Eagles. I wish the team all the best."
