Etoile Sportive du Sahel will be determined to seal their place in the last four of the Confederation Cup when they face Stade Malien in Bamako on Sunday, in matchday five of Africa’s second-tier club competition.

The Tunisians, who top Group A on nine points with two more games to go, need just one point from their trip to the Malian capital to secure a semifinal spot.

And there will be no shortage of confidence in the Sousse-based outfit, after their back-to-back successes against Al Ahly in their last continental outing and CS Sfaxien in the quarterfinals of the Tunisian Cup.

While Etoile are looking in for a smooth ride, Stade Malien will have to work very hard to extend their Confederation Cup journey beyond the group stage.

Lying third on four points, three adrift of second-placed Al Ahly, Kamel Djebour’s men will be sent packing should they fail to clinch all three points and Ahly defeat Espérance in Radès in the group’s other fixture.

The first leg saw Etoile enjoy a 1-0 victory in Sousse, thanks to a lone goal from Baghdad Bounedjah.

The match will kick off at Stade Modibo Keita at 17h30 CAT on Sunday 23 August 2015.
