Al Hilal will be out to book their place in the semifinals of the 2015 CAF Champions League on Saturday, when they travel to Alexandria for their final Group A tie against Smouha SC.
We are in for a dramatic finish in this group, with the Sudanese giants tied on eight points with TP Mazembe and Moghreb Tetouan, who will battle in Lubumbashi at the same time.
Hilal enjoy a head-to-head advantage over Mazembe, having held the four-time African champions in Lubumbashi before sealing a 1-0 victory on home ground.
It means that a win or a draw will see them through to the last four regardless of the outcome of the other fixture.
However, a defeat on Egyptian soil could send the Sudanese packing if there are no winners in DR Congo, or if the ‘Ravens’ grab the three points due to Moghreb Tetouan’s better head-to-head record with Hilal this campaign.
Meanwhile, Smouha SC, who are already out of the race for a semifinals spot, will use this opportunity to prepare for a crucial clash against Zamalek in the last four of the Egypt Cup
next Thursday.
The match will kick off at Alexandria Stadium at
15h30 CAT on
Saturday 12 September 2015.
