Mali booked their place at the 2016 African Nations Championship after holding Mauritania to a 1-1 draw in Nouakchott on Saturday.
Following their 2-1 win in Bamako in the first leg, the local Eagles progress 3-2 on aggregate.
Moussa Bagayoko gave the visitors the lead five minutes into the game, with Mama Niass levelling matters for the ‘Mourabitounes’ on the stroke of half-time.
And while the Eagles went down to ten men shortly after the restart after Oumar Koné received his marching orders, they managed to hold on to come away with the qualification.
The continental tournament’s finals will take place in Rwanda between 16 January and 7 February 2016.
