Mohamed Oulhaj scored five minutes from time to hand Morocco a 3-2 win over Tunisia in their final 2016 African Nations Championship Northern Zone qualifying group.
The two nations were already guaranteed a spot at the tournament’s finals, which will take place in Rwanda between 16 January and 7 February 2016, following Morocco’s 4-0 thrashing of Libya last Friday night.
It was an exciting match with the opening goal coming in the 20th minute courtesy of a strike from Abdeladin Khadrouf which gave Morocco a 1-0 lead.
Tunisia managed to equalise eight minute later thanks to a strike from Ali Machani which took the game into the half time break locked at 1-1.
The second half started a little slower, but Abderrahim Achchakir managed to give Morocco the lead for a second time in the 70th minute from the penalty spot, 2-1.
Again, the Atlas Lions’ lead did not last long with Saad Bguir equalising for Tunisia in the 80th minute, 2-2.
Nonetheless, Morocco pushed forward and found the winner five minutes from time after a clinical finish from Oulhaj, 3-2.
