Belgian coach Maurice Cooreman has replaced Zakary Baraje, who led Akwa United to a historic Federation Cup triumph last month.
Cooreman has handled several top clubs including Enyimba, Gombe United and Ghana’s Asante Kotoko.
In November, the experienced Baraje guided Akwa United to win a first-ever major trophy at the expense of Lobi Stars after they survived relegation from the Nigeria top flight for the second straight season.
They will represent Nigeria in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup and will face V.Club Mokanda of Congo in the preliminary round of the annual competition in February.
