West Bromwich Albion midfielder Stephane Sessegnon finally broke his goalscoring duck as his side defeated Stoke City on Saturday.
Sessegnon scored the opening goal as Bromwich edged out an in-form Stoke side 2-1 in an English Premier League (EPL) clash at the Hawthorns Stadium.
The 31-year-old midfielder scored for the first time in 32 EPL appearances. Prior to the Stoke game, he had last netted for Bromwich against Manchester United in October, 2014.
Bromwich manager Tony Pulis had urged the Benin international midfielder to be a consistent performer ahead of the encounter.
“We’re hoping that he shows that consistent run of form, that’s what you’re looking for from your players. You’re looking for that level of consistency,” Pulis said.
The Baggies will take on Bristol City in an FA Cup clash at the Hawthorns Stadium next week Saturday.
