Former Zimbabwe and Bloemfontein Celtic forward George Nechironga has advised Chicken Inn not to respect Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the CAF Champions League encounter.
The two sides are set to meet next month in the preliminary stages of the club continental competition with the legend saying too much respect will cost the Zim outfit.
Known as the Gamecocks, Inn are playing in the Champions League as they won the Zimbabwean Premier League last season whilst the Brazilians finished as runners-up behind Kaizer Chiefs in the Premier Soccer League.
“They must not read too much into what they see or read in the media, of course Sundowns are a notch above in terms of administration, structures and other things,” said Nechironga.

“But that should not mean they should give them unwarranted respect on the field of play.
“Chicken Inn must not feel inferior in any way because football is just the same especially on this part of the continent.
“So we are looking forward to some real competition when the kick-off comes.”
Although the former Siwelele juniors mentor backs players to market themselves against ‘rich clubs’ like Sundowns, he warns that the match is not about individualism.
“Of course it’s a platform for players to be noticed because scouts will be following but this is not about individualism at the expense of the team,” adds Nechironga.
“It’s Chicken Inn that won the championship to qualify for the Champions League not the individuals – so these guys must play for the team.”
The first leg of the tie is set to be staged in Zimbabwe and the return leg to be hosted by the Brazilians in South Africa.
