Senegal’s Generation Foot coach Jabi Fall has questioned the penalty awarded hosts Nasarawa United in a CAF Confederation Cup tie at the weekend.
Nasarawa 2 Generation Foot 1
Hosts Nasarawa needed the 88th
minute penalty converted by Seun Sogbesan to beat the Senegal cup holders 2-1 in a preliminary round, first leg clash in Abuja.
“It was not a penalty and we are very disappointed,” blasted an enraged Fall.
“The penalty was a shame for African football!”
Nasarawa, who last played international football in 2007, got off to a flying start when they took the lead after six minutes through Tayo Fabiyi.
But thereafter ‘The Solid Miners’ struggled and allowed the visitors to draw level two minutes after the interval by Ibrahima Niane.
The return leg match will be played on February 28 in Senegal.
