The 2015/16 Ghana Premier League season has been launched at the Football Association secretariat today (Wednesday).
All sixteen (16) clubs including newly-promoted Techiman City FC who are battling an Ethics Committee ruling to demote them to the third-tier for bribery and match-fixing during their Division One League campaign.
Newly appointed Premier League Board chairman Ashford Tetteh-Oku has appealed to all clubs to respect the rules and regulations of the Club Licensing System.
Ghana FA vice president George Afriyie, who doubles as a director of Liberty Professionals, said efforts were being made to bring a new headline sponsor of the league on board.
Ex-Ghana international Tony Baffoe, now General Secretary of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana, advised the clubs on the need on providing an insurance scheme for players in the Ghana top-flight.
The league’s TV rights holders SuperSport confirmed they are in talks with some local stations to show Saturday matches live.
