Ahead of the highly anticipated CAF Champions League encounter against AS Vita Club on Wednesday night, Mamelodi Sundowns skipper Ramahlwe Mphahlele insists the Absa Premiership leaders must be smart in their approach.

Although the Brazilians will be going all out for victory, 'Rama' believes they must be cautious in their approach and box smart.

Pitso Mosimane's side are chasing a victory to book their spot in the group stages following a 1-0 defeat in the first leg against Florent Ibenge's side, in Kinshasa earlier this month.

The Tshwane giants will now fight to bag a win at home and keep their dream alive of conquering the continent, and the Sundowns captain is adamant Vita will crack.

“From the first whistle we are going to have a go at them; believe me, they will crack. They cannot park the bus for 90 minutes,” Mphahlele told Kick-Off.

“The first 10-20 minutes will be critical. We not are going to be naive and just go all the way; we have to be smart.

“As much as we attack we have to be smart and make sure we don’t concede because you know what it means.

“So the best thing for us is to get an early goal and we know they will start opening up. They have good players, skillful players, but we are going to have a go at them.”

'Downs will be inspired by back-to-back wins over Polokwane City and Jomo Cosmos in the league - in which they scored five goals and conceded one.

ES Setif (Algeria), Zesco United (Zambia) and Zamalek (Egypt) have already booked their place in the group stages following wins on Tuesday night.

Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville is the venue for this evening's clash. The match is scheduled to get underway at 19h30 CAT.
