Anglo-Nigerian striker Ike Ugbo scored a brace as Chelsea U18s came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with the Liverpool in the club’s final home game of the season.
The 15-year old equalised for Chelsea with a header only three minutes after Herbie Kane had put Liverpool ahead in the game, for what was his 23rd goal in all competitions.
The Liverpool youngsters were however better on the day, as they went ahead again through Adam Philips, and they could have easily wrapped up the game, but missed a series of chances to bury the young Blues.
With Liverpool failing to convert their chances, Ugbo leveled things for Chelsea again with 15 minutes left on the clock, as he found space in front of the Liverpool defence and advanced to the edge of the box, before dispatching a neat finish into the back of the net.
The goal was the young striker’s 24th of the season, making him the top scorer in both the league and the cup.
Ugbo was born in London to Nigerian parents and is currently an England U17 international, who featured at last year’s FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile.
