Malawi national team coach Ernest Mtawali has released his final squad for the trip to Harare for their 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Zimbabwe.
The Flames are scheduled to face off against the Warriors on Sunday, in what is seen as crucial encounter with the Malawians aiming to stun the hosts.
Mtawali has dropped several players according to a report carried by the Nyasa Times of Malawi.
The coach has let go goalkeepers, Brighton Munthali and John Soko whilst electing defender Pilirani Zonda among others.
Speaking about his decision, the former Flames midfielder said it was not easy to drop the players,but highlighted that they are still part of his future plans.

“It was not easy to drop players who have been at their best during the preparations,” the coach told the Nyasa Times.
“I don’t think they are completely out of my sight. Mind you we have COSAFA ahead and we can make changes to the squad anytime so they still are part of our plans.”
Meanwhile, Mtawali also bemoaned the loss of midfielder Isaac Kaliati who pulled out of camp on Tuesday morning due to an injury.
