Alain Traore's solitary goal earned Burkina Faso a 1-0 win over Comoros in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Sunday afternoon.
The Group D encounter was played at the Stade de Moroni in Comoros' capital city, Moroni.
The victory took Burkina Faso to the top of the Group D standings, while Comoros remain at the bottom of the table.
Ali Ahamada was kept very busy in the Comoros goal in the opening stages of the crucial encounter, but he managed to make good saves.
Les Coelecantes shot-stopper, who is currently in the books of Turkish TFF First League side Kayserispor, ensured that the first-half ended goalless.
The home managed to contain the Stallions of Burkina Faso who slightly dominated the game in the opening stages of the second-half.
However, FC Lorient centre forward Alain Traore had other ideas as he snatched a late goal for the visitors with 10 minutes left on the clock.
Les Coelecantes launched late attacks in search of a late equalizer, but the Stallions stood firm at the back and Burkina Faso won 1-0 on the day.
