TP Mazembe will want a win at home this weekend in their Group A, CAF Confederation Cup match against SC Medeama on Sunday afternoon.

The Democratic Republic of Congo side will be targeting the full three points to ensure they top the group.

The reigning CAF Champions League champions will be hoping to get their group stages campaign off to a bright start and secure their second continental title in two years.

However, against a strong Ghanaian side in Medeama, they will have to use their home advantage and win the match.

Coach Hubert Velud is aware that his men must do everything well at home and ensure a win which will boost their chances of leading the standings.

Mazembe beat Stade Gabesien 2-2 on aggregate after a 1-0 win at home and 2-1 loss away which will motivate them ahead of this tie.

On the other hand, the Ghanaian outfit will also target continuity in their campaign as they beat South African side Mamelodi Sundowns in the previous round.

They lost 3-1 in South Africa before dispatching the Brazilians 2-0 at home, a result that has boosted their morale.

Although they had problems off the field of play, they will hope to erase all of those and secure a win away in DRC.

The match is set to be the first meeting between these two sides and both will fight to claim the three points.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at Stade du TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi at 15:30 on Sunday.
