ASEC Mimosas will eyeing a winning start in the 2016 CAF Champions League Group A when they face Wydad Casablanca at the Stade Robert Champroux in Abidjan on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 17h30 (CAT).
The Ivorian side reached the group stages after defeating Libyan outfit Al-Ahli Tripoli 3-2 on aggregate in the second round.
They failed to win their most recent competitive game away last weekend. ASEC played to a goalless stalemate with JCAT in the Ivorian Ligue 1 game.
Serge Aka will be hoping to deliver for the Black and Yellows again on Saturday. The midfielder netted against Tripoli in the second-round.
ASEC are targeting their second Champions League title. The Black and Yellows beat Zimbabwean side Dynamos to clinch the title in 1998.
Meanwhile, Wydad will be out to record a crucial away victory when they lock horns with Ivorian side ASEC Saturday evening.
The Moroccan giants reached the group stages after beating TP Mazembe from DRC 3-1 on aggregate in the second round.
Wydad recorded a convincing win in their previous competitive game last weekend. They thumped Amal Tiznit 5-0 in the Coupe du Trône round of 32 game.
Reda Hajhouj has had a good 2016 CAF Champions League campaign having scored six goals. The winger will look to inspire Wydad to victory against ASEC.
The Rouges et Blancs are also targeting their second ever Champions League title. They beat Sudanese giants Al-Hilal to lift the trophy in 1992.
Gambian match referee Bakary Gassama will be in charge of the Group A game between ASEC and Wydad on Saturday evening.
