The former SPL Young Player of the Year, who rejected a new deal to remain at St. Mary's, issued a letter to the Southampton fans which has since been published on his website:
"It is very emotional for me to say goodbye to the club that gave me the chance to be the first Kenyan to play in Premier League.
"I will never forget my time in Southampton Football Club, I will keep club forever in my heart."
The Kenya international made his debut for the Harambee Stars as a 15-year-old and is currently the captain of the national team.
