Wydad Casablanca claim Chikatara capture

Moroccan champions Wydad Casablanca announced on their website they have completed the signing of Nigeria striker Chisom Chikatara.

Chikatara’s Nigerian club Abia Warriors had earlier announced the agreement to transfer the striker to Wydad had fallen through.

Abia Warriors chairman Emeka Inyama told AfricanFootball.com Chikatara will this week be heading to a club in Europe.

However, in a dramatic turn-around, Wydad said today they have successfully signed the CHAN 2016 star.

The Moroccans announced they have transferred the agreed transfer fee to Abia Warriors after they received the international Transfer Certificate (ITC) from the Nigerian club.

They further said they have sent a flight ticket to the player to fly to Morocco for his reception.
