New Platinum Stars striker Benson Shilongo relishes maiden PSL season

Former Gaborone United centre forward Benson Shilongo is already enjoying life at his new South African club Platinum Stars.

The Namibian international joined Stars from GU on a free transfer last week and he has already began life at the Phokeng-based club.

When speaking to Botswana media, Spotkick, from South Africa on Tuesday, stated that he was looking forward to the new season.

"I am already feeling at home. Everyone here has been fantastic and I am looking forward to the new season," Shilongo said.

The new South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) season will kick-off next month. Stars will also be participating in the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup.

This will be Shilongo's second stint in South Africa. The lethal forward was once in the books of lower division side Blackburn Rovers a few years ago.

The 24-year-old forward netted ten goals in 26 beMOBILE Premiership appearances for GU during the recent 2015/16 campaign.
