Welcome to AfricanFootball’s coverage of the 2016 CAF Champions League Group A clash between ZESCO United and ASEC Mimosas from the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
The action as it happened...
90+4' - Full time! ZESCO 3-1 ASEC -
Done and dusted in Ndola, ZESCO have claimed a vital win which takes them level on six points with Morocco's Wydad Casablanca at the top of Group A. ASEC remain on three points. The teams will meet for a rematch in Abidjan in 11 days.
There will be three minutes of added time. Surely no way back for the visitors now...
It's end-to-end action at the moment and it wouldn't be a surprise to see another goal or two. ASEC are throwing men forward in desperation, while ZESCO look dangerous on the counter and keen to take advantage of the holes left at the back by the visitors.
79' - GOAL! ZESCO 3-1 ASEC -
The two-goal lead is restored! It's another substitute, with Mbombo
scoring a somewhat lucky goal - his initial header was blocked by a defender, but his follow-up shot takes a couple of wicked deflections before somehow finding its way into the net!
77' - GOAL! ZESCO 2-1 ASEC -
The Ivorians have a goal back! ZESCO can't clear their box from a corner kick and youngster Dao
scores in a crowd of players with a clever back-heel! Superb finish!
ASEC substitute Youssouf Dao almost pulls a goal back, with only an intervention from goalkeeper Banda denying the attacker!
We've seen a couple of changes from ASEC, who are rolling the dice now. Just one goal brings them back into the game, despite ZESCO's almost total dominance...
Goal scorer Mwanza gets a round of applause as he leaves the field to be replaced by Idris Mbombo.
ASEC's Dalla is down after a clash of heads but he's soon up on his feet. The West African side's hopes of getting anything out of the game rely on them getting a goal back sooner rather than later.
ZESCO on attack through Ching’andu but the visitors do just enough to keep him from claiming another goal.
It really looks as if we're more likely to see another goal or two for ZESCO, rather than a comeback from the Ivorians.
Diomande nearly makes a second major mistake, trying to dribble a ZESCO attacker before getting a lucky break to clear the ball...
Zakri shoots direct from the free kick but it's a poor effort, well off target. Sums up ASEC's day so far...
Zakri tumbles under a challenge near the box and ASEC have a useful attacking position...
Back underway in the second half in Ndola. Can ASEC find a way back into this game? They've won in Egypt already in this campaign...
45+2' - Half time -
There's the whistle for half time, it's ZESCO well in control at 2-0 up.
Closing in on half time, there will be two minutes of added time.
It's all gone wrong for ASEC... they must have thought they had weathered the storm, but two quick goals sees them in real trouble.
37' - GOAL! ZESCO 2-0 ASEC - John Ching’andu's
free kick is straight at ASEC goalkeeper Diomande, but he makes a horrible error and allows the ball to squirm out of his hands and over the line! 2-0 to the Zambians!
33' - GOAL! ZESCO 1-0 ASEC - Jackson Mwanza
has looked the likeliest scorer and he finally comes good on his threat, steering home a clever ball over the top of the ASEC defence. No less than ZESCO deserve...
Past the half hour mark, still goalless in Ndola.
ZESCO have moved up a gear again, dominating possession and forcing the visitors on the back foot. No clear chances yet, though.
Past the midway point of the first half. Mwanza skips past a couple of challenges before looking to shoot on goal, but his effort is well blocked by Kangoute.
Zakri back on the field and now flagged offside, with ASEC now finding their feet in the game and knocking the ball around with more confidence.
No real work for either goalkeeper just yet. ASEC with a small worry while star man Zakri receives some treatment on the sidelines.
Past the 10 minute mark, it's still the Zambia hosts bossing the game. ASEC happy to just hold them at bay and play on the counter for the moment.
ZESCO with a free kick just outside the ASEC box. Mwanza tries an effort direct on goal, but only succeeds in hitting the defensive wall.
Mwanza tries a shot from the edge of the box, but he's quickly closed down. It's all ZESCO early on here...
Ching’andu floats a useful ball into the box for ZESCO, but it's well defended by the home team in the end.
1' - Kick-off -
