Ex-Nigeria international Sam Sodje has told AfricanFootball.com the announcement of French coach Paul Le Guen as Super Eagles coach without reaching an agreement with him was unprofessional and an embarrassment to the nation.

READ: Why negotiations with Le Guen failed by NFF

The former Portsmouth defender said there is no big deal if a coach decided not to take an appointment but announcing such appointment when it was not so was unprofessional.

"It's not a big deal if a country and a manager can't agree on terms, then the manager turns down the job, but for NFF to announce him as a coach when an agreement has not been reached shows how unprofessional the NFF are,” Sodje said.

“It's so embarrassing."

He said a core professional and not a mere fan is needed to lead the NFF.

"We need professionals at the NFF, if not it will be the same old stories. I know from the day one, that the NFF leadership can't do nothing,” he said.

“An ex-international who has gone through football management can also be good but not among those who have sold their souls to the corrupt system.

“It's sad NFF will look for ways to pay a foreign coach, but owe local coaches backlog of salaries and allowances. Nigerians can't be fooled anymore."

Football remains dead like a trial and error game in Nigeria as long as this heartless liars led by pinnick who's very cocky and good at this lying games. Goto Nff website the coach appointment was displayed and he also denied he didn't make the announcement on that same Nff website. This man is taking Nigerians as fools should we fold our hands and let him continue this madness leadership. I want to believe pinnick is not a true reflect of Nigerians as a whole
