Khalid Aucho is expected to arrive in Scotland today [Thursday] for a two-week trial with Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen.
The 22-year-old is set to start training with The Dons on Friday, with the club to run the rule over him in a friendly match this weekend.
AfricanFootball.com reported in May that Glasgow Rangers were interested in signing the burly midfielder with South African Premier Soccer League side's also following his progress.
KHALID AUCHO LINKED WITH GLASGOW RANGERS SWITCH
Aucho, who made a name for himself at Kenya Premier League side Gor Mahia, has been compared to Tottenham Hotspur ace Victor Wanyama with the two players very similar in stature.
“I will be travelling to Scotland for trials with Aberdeen, they have invited me for a two week activities and I hope I will impress them," Aucho is quoted as saying by Scottish Sun Sport.
“I have been waiting for the opportunity to play abroad and since this one has come, I have to commit myself and work for something positive.
“Well, I am very pleased with it and equally positive that the outcome will be good.”
According to football journalist Collins Okinyo, Aucho left Nairobi for Scotland at 07h00 on Thursday morning.
Aberdeen, who finished as runners-up in the Scottish top flight last season, will be in Europa League qualifying action on Thursday evening.
The four-time Scottish Premier League champions are away to Latvian outfit FK Ventspils. Aberdeen won the first-leg 3-0.
