Former Schalke forward Chinedu Obasi has said he is delighted to sign a short-term deal with Swedish club AIK, who also line up former Nigeria star Dickson Etuhu.
Obasi told the AIK website: “It's a great opportunity and also a great honour for me to be part of this fantastic club. I'm really looking forward to being a part of the AIK family and get to play in front of the fans.”
AIK are third on the Swedish league table after 16 rounds of matches, five points behind leaders Malmo.
The 30-year-old Obasi scored twice for the AIK U21s this week and passed a medical to join up till the end of the season.
He has been assigned jersey No 7.
He has featured for Hoffenheim and Schalke in the German Bundesliga.
He recently trained with Norwegian club Lillestrom but was not given a contract.
