The NFF technical committee met in Abuja today to recommend the appointment of former Burkina Faso and Gabon coach Gernot Rohr as Nigeria’s next coach.

The appointment of Rohr has already leaked to the media, but this has been the first official confirmation he will be the next man to lead the Super Eagles.
An official informed AfricanFootball.com: “The committee has recommended to the NFF executive committee that Rohr be appointed the next Super Eagles coach.
“He is very interested in working and living in Nigeria as he has done so in countries like Burkina Faso and Niger.”
Rohr, who is already in the country, interacted with the committee and his recommendation is now expected to be approved by the executive committee in the new week.
The Franco-German will be assisted by chief coach Salisu Yusuf with the immediate task being a dead runner 2017 AFCON next month at home against Tanzania before a 2018 World Cup qualifier in Zambia in October.
The Tanzania match will be played in Port Harcourt on September 4.
