Algeria will have nothing but pride to play for when they take on Portugal in a Group D clash at the 2016 Rio Olympics Football Tournament in Belo Horizonte on Wednesday.
The North Africans have already been eliminated from the competition; following defeats to Honduras (3-2) and Argentina (2-1) in their first two encounters.
As for Portugal - despite being without several key players - the Europeans have been able to draw inspiration from the senior team that were crowned Euro champions last month, and have already booked their place in the knockout stages.
Victory over group favourites Argentina (2-0) was followed by a narrow win (2-1) over Honduras in Rio de Janeiro.
Selecção Olímpica have yet to medal in the Football Tournament at the Games with their best showing coming back in 1996 - following defeat to Argentina in the semifinals they suffered a 5-0 thumping at the hands of Brazil in the Bronze Medal match.
This was only the second time Algeria have qualified for the Games, but they were unable to replicate what the class of 1980 achieved; reaching the quarterfinals in Moscow.
Kick-off at the Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto is scheduled for 13h00 (local time), 18h00 CAT.
Honduras face Argentina at the same time in Brasília.
