Manu laments injury crisis as Eaglets lose test game

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets coach Manu Garba has lamented his team’s injury problems after they fell 2-1 to Diamond Academy in a test game on Wednesday.

“We have two, three of our players who are down with injuries and the captain is only recovering from illness,” said Manu after the loss to Diamond Academy of Umuahia.

“But otherwise, Diamond academy gave us a very good test. They are a forceful side.”

The Eaglets face a daunting task to qualify for the next round of the U17 AFCON when they travel to Niger for a return leg of their qualifier after they narrowly won 1-0 in Abuja.

They will train in Sokoto before their departure to Niamey.
