Medeama overcame TP Mazembe 3-2 in the CAF Confederation Cup Group A game played at the Sekondi-Takoradi Stadium in Sekondi-Takoradi on Sunday.
Ghana's Medeama stay on position two on Group A standings with eight points, while DR Congo side Mazembe remain at the top with ten points
The two goalkeepers were not tested in the opening ten minutes of the encounter, but Mazembe looked determined to score early.
In the 13th minute, the visitors pushed forward with Nii Adjei finding his Mazembe teammate Rainford Kalaba who narrowly missed the target.
Salifu Coulibaly of Mazembe was booked for a bad challenge seven minutes later as Medeama began to press the visitors.
The Yellow and Mauves as Medeama are nicknamed, were awarded a free-kick in a promising area two minutes after the half-hour mark.
Enoch Adjei then stepped up and beat Mazembe goalkeeper Sylvain Gbohouo from the free-kick to make it 1-0 to Medeama.
The hosts managed to contain the Congolese giants in the remaining minutes until the match referee blew the half-time whistle.
The referee waved play on five minutes after the restart after Medeama midfielder Eric Kwakwa was brought down inside the box.
But the home side did double their lead in the 61st minute after they were awarded a penalty and Moses Sarpong converted from the spot-kick.
Four minutes later, Mazembe responded with a goal and it was Jonathan Bolingi who scored with a header from close range.
It was soon 2-2 after Mazembe's talisman Kalaba netted with a header in the 73rd minute from close range in the Medeama box.
But it was the home side who scored the winning goal through Kwesi Donsu who beat the offside trap before sealing Medeama's 3-2 victory in stoppage time.
