Nigeria U20 skipper Kelechi Nwakali is to soon be sent out on loan to a club in either Turkey or Norway, it has been exclusively learnt.

Nwakali, who turned 18 in June, has signed a five-year contract with Arsenal but as he is not in the immediate plans of manager Arsene Wenger, he will have to go on loan.

Arsenal confirmed the Nigeria youngster will be sent out on loan to gain first-team experience.

“The loan options Arsenal are working on are in either Turkey or Norway,” a top source has now informed.

Incidentally, Nwakali’s older brother, Chidiebere, is currently on loan at Norwegian club IK Start from Manchester City.

The younger Nwakali was the MVP of last year’s FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile.

He also captained the Flying Eagles in a failed qualifying campaign for next year’s U20 AFCON in Zambia.

Sudan eliminated Nigeria from the U20 AFCON.
