Nigeria stars like Mutiu Adepoju, Chris Ohenhen, the Uche brothers, Rashidi Yekini, Finidi George, Obafemi Martins and Isaac Success have flown the Nigerian flag with great distinction over the years.
And now Agbo, 20, is the only Nigeria star in the Spanish top-flight league and he is said he is very much aware he is now the standard bearer for the country in one of the top leagues in the world.
“I know I have to double my efforts now flying the green-white-green flag in La Liga,” Agbo told AfricanFootball.com
“I already started on a good note after playing from start to finish at home against Villarreal in our opening game of the season.”
The match ended in a 1-1 draw with defensive midfielder Agbo now playing as a central defender.
He had started out with the Granada youth team in the 2013/14 season and last season he made six appearances for the first team.
Former Flying Eagles star Agbo has again been named in the match day squad for the trip to Las Palmas, who got off to a flying start when they won 4-2 at Valencia on the first week of action in Spain.
