Nigerian midfielder Mikel Agu has praised his unfashionable Portuguese club Vitoria Setubal for getting off to a flying start this season.
Vitoria Setubal are second behind Sporting Lisbon after three rounds of matches with seven points while Agu, on loan from FC Porto, playing a big role in this fine run.
“This is one of the best starts to the season by Vitoria Setubal. We are still unbeaten after three matches – two wins and a draw.
“The draw we got was even at Benfica.
“It’s still early days, but we hope to achieve something big this season.”
At the weekend, Vitoria Setubal were comfortable 2-0 over Arouca at home with Agu playing the entire game.
His bright and lively showing at defensive midfield will fetch him the man of the match award by the newspaper O Jogo.
