Angola and Madagascar played to a pointless 1-1 draw in their final Africa Cup of Nations, Group B qualifier at the Estadio 11 de Novembro in Luanda on Saturday afternoon.

Neither side stood a chance of qualifying for the continental tournament in Gabon next year, but both were playing for pride.

The draw sees Madagascar finish bottom of the qualifying group with three points while Angola are just above them in third with five points.

DR Congo and Central Africa Republic will fight it out for top spot in Group B when the two lock horns on Sunday.

DR Congo currently top Group B with 12 points followed by CAR with ten points.

On the day, Angola dominated early on but it was Madagascar who took the lead away from home and against the run of play courtesy of a 17th minute strike from Bapasy, 1-0.

The home side tried to find their way back into the game, but could not do so before the half-time break.

Angola came out firing in the second half and equalised in the 55th minute thanks to a goal from Gelson, 1-1.

Neither side could find a winner before the final whistle as the two sides shared the spoils.

Angola (0) 1 (Gelson 55’)
Madagascar (1) 1 (Bapasy 17’)
