Sierra Leone born Chelsea youngster has played 88 times for England

In other news, Sierra Leone born Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah on Tuesday evening won his 88th cap for England at youth level.

The 21-year-old, who was born in Freetown, scored The Young Lions second in a 6-1 win over Norway in a European Under-21 Championship qualifier at Colchester Community Stadium.


Chalobah moved to England with his parents at the age of seven and has in the past stated his desire to represent his country of upbringing at national level - a bitter blow to the Leone Stars.

Despite his exploits at national youth level, Chalobah is yet to make his competitive debut for Chelsea.

According to the Telegraph there is no official record for the most capped youth player, but the publication report that the Football Association are confident that Chalobah holds the record - having made his Under-16 debut at the age of 13 eight years ago.

James Milner, who made 46 apperances for England's Under-21 side, has a total of 70 England caps at Under-16 to Under-21 level.
