Nasarawa United free-scoring midfielder Esosa Igbinoba has said he is no longer bothered he continues to be overlooked by the Super Eagles despite his impressive stats.
Igbinoba popped up to draw hosts Nasarawa United level with Wikki Tourists before the Lafia went on to win the game 2-1 on Saturday.
"Apart from Rabiu Ali (of Kano Pillars), I am the second highest goal scorer as an attacking midfielder yet I don't get a national call-up,” he said.
"Today’s goal (vs Wikki) makes it my 10th goal of the season. Last season, I scored 15 goals while the previous season, I scored nine goals, all together in three seasons I've scored 34 goals with three matches to go."
“But I am not bothered anymore, if they like they should invite me, if they don't, I believe in God's time, no one can stop me when the time comes from God."
He said Saturday’s last-ditch win against Wikki will propel them past home team Abia Warriors in their next game.
“We are going to compound the woes of Abia Warriors. Good enough this game might be played behind closed doors or at a neutral venue which is an added advantage to us,” he said.
“A win away at Abia Warriors added to winning our next match at home would mean we are closer to clinching a continental ticket again.”
